Never put your dream on a shelf — give it a chance! Flying had been my dream for 25 years, since childhood.
When I found out there’s a flight school in Tbilisi, I thought, why not now? I came to Natakhtari airfield to meet the head of the school — Artem Kuzmenko.
From the first minute, I knew I was in the right place. Artem has a steady gaze, and the kind of calm confidence that instantly earns respect. You can tell he’s someone who truly loves the sky and wants to share it.
Now I’m a student. I’m learning to fly a Cessna, talk to ground services, read weather, maps, and NOTAMs. Every day I learn something new.
Studying in Georgia is a great opportunity:
– European license and solid standards,
– relaxed, comfortable learning pace,
– instructors speak English, Russian, and Ukrainian — so you can always ask in your own language,
– more than 300 flying days a year,
– and real experience from day one: hills, mountain views, different flying zones.
Natakhtari is a very student-friendly airport, and it’s close to Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports, so you get to practice flying in airspace with regular traffic too.
And I have to say — my instructor, Georgii, is incredible. He has this quiet way of seeing exactly what you need and helping you grow into the pilot you’re meant to be.
